Inner Core

Inner Core is a team of gamers who is gonna develop a game named "Nu Earth" for a collaborative project.

The team consists of 1 programmer and 3 designers.

All are currently students of 2nd year studying in Image College of Arts, Animation and Technology, Chennai(Tamil Nadu).

My name is Mayank Rajput. I am from Raipur, Chhattisgarh(India). I'm the only developer/programmer of my team.

This team has been formed to finish a collaborative project for our 2nd year.

My experience at this very moment is of a 2D game using Direct X 9, Flash game using action script 2.0 and a mobile game using J2ME.

I am also working on Unreal Development Kit-2009 for a game prototype and a basic framework which can load *.x models, update vertex and some effects using shaders.

Manas Murali is a game designer. In this project he will be working on textures, models and research work.

Hola.
I am not sure where to start with, but I am quiet sure what to write. So, just read and enjoy.
Well, I woke up this morning(which is not a usual thing during holidays) and switched on my laptop n started surfing the most popular site - YOUTUBE. ;)
One of my professors, Prof. Eric Miller(Ph.D. candidate, Folklore Program, University of Pennsylvania) in a class of 'History of Digital Media' showed us a Video of a Game Designer named Matt Harding on youtube. The name of the video is "Where the Hell is Matt?".
So, I thought to watch that video today. The uniqueness about that video is that, Matt goes to different places of the world and dances either in front of famous monuments/buildings or with people.
Watching that video makes me smile n even laugh. There is no denying of the fact that he dances in a weird way. This is not the reason why I smile watching this video. The reason is, I feel happy looking at how happy he is living his life. The background song is very very nice. I must say its Powerful. Maybe the song also brings smile on my face.
Coming back to the topic..... He dances around the world making others to dance with him. He is having many people around him. He also dances around crabs, dogs, seals n many more animals. Looking at his videos make me feel to do the same. He is not showing off in any way, thats for sure. Whatever he is doing, is making him popular. He is making people happy. I want the same life. I want people to be around me. I want to make them happy. I want people to remember me when m gone.
Traveling to different places, making friends in those cool places, enjoying life. Who does not need a life like that!!?? I don't know about MORONS.
At least I can go with my girlfriend. She means everything to me. I want to take her to different places. I want her to be happy. I want to give her everything. I live very far from her. I miss her every second, but only when m not working. Love and Career are two different stuffs. Mixing them will screw anyone. She wanted me to write something about her in blog. Haha. Well, I'm not so good in writing, but all I know is She is PERFECT for me n I'm for her. I love her. She is afraid to tell about our relationship to anyone, even to her best friend. She thinks that if she tell about us to anyone, some other gal will take me away from her. lol. I always laugh at her theory. Its difficult to argue with her.
I told about us to my Best Friend(P). I'm proud of it. I've a friend whom I can trust. Even In Chennai, I made many good friends, but the best one is Xtremer.
A message to everyone(my friends n foes)-->Live this LIFE n cherish it, coz God won't give you another chance to live this life. So, make the best out it. Not all get happiness easily. One has to earn it.

Introduction!!!!

Hi all. I am Mayank Rajput, a student of Game Development in Image College of Arts, Animation & Tech.
Is it really necessary that the Intros should be given whenever starting a blog???!!!!
I've seen many in a situation when they meet someone, they talk for sometime and then one of them suddenly says, "Oh! M sorry.....I am BLAH BLAH."
This is a similar situation. ;)
I've started blogging recently, so that makes me a NOOB.

My story....
Past:
I was a student of St. Xavier, Raipur(Chhattisgarh).
I wasn't a flirt there. I was never a flirt in my whole life. I wasted those precious school days in studies.
2 subjects were my fav, one was Chemistry(coz my dad is a professor of Chemistry) n other was Computer(i love it).
My frnds called me Master of Chemistry n Computer(MCC), even 3-4 teachers called me by same name. HAH! I loved those days.
I made many friends there, the count was uncountable. Now there is no contact between me n my friends. I miss them very much.
In conclusion my past was boring, still i loved it.

Present:
Hmmm....Presently i've been admitted to ICAT(Chennai) n my branch is Game Development.
I formed a team of Counter Strike(a PC game) in my previous Engineering college named-->"The AVENGERS", with me as a Captain.
We won many matches n still we r the BEST TEAM of Chhattisgarh. I mean, i haven't encountered any team which is better than "THE AVENGERS".
Well, we went to IIT-Mumbai an year ago n we won many matches there too, but lost in the Semi-Finals. We recently won the tournament held in BIT(Bhilai, Chhattisgarh) and NIT-Raipur(Chhattisgarh).
I love games a lot.....n so i've decided to pursue my career in Gaming Industry.
Thats the main reason why I discontinued my engineering which I was doing from SSCET(Bhilai, Chhattisgarh).
I miss my friends from St. Xavier.

Future:
I'll be a Game Developer.

WoW time.

Knee deep in SEA

I was busy lately with all my projects and class assignments, so I could not post any stuff in the past week.
Well, 3 days ago was truly a great evening. I submitted all my works and my game(on which i've been working since May). After that me and my friends(Manas, Jefery, Matachan, Vikram n Sisneh) went to beach. Its been almost an year since I am in Chennai and I went to beach some 4-5 times in total, but never experienced how it feels to be in(or to touch) sea water.
Like perverts we were watching other couples making out on the beach, they were unaware of the world. ;) It was gr8....
Well, me n jeff(Jefery) removed our shoes n folded our jeans till knees n ran for the wave.
Neither do I know swimming, nor did Jefery knew. HAH! It was 8:30pm and we were knee deep in Sea. The waves were beating up against us. I am not afraid of water and on that particular evening I was enjoying a lot. It was almost half hour since we were playing in water and I finally decided to get out of water. While leaving I saw a couple kissing, they were the same ones whom I saw kissing some 30-40 minutes before....I was wondering that how people can go on kissing for this much time. It suddenly came to my mind that the record of longest kiss is 46hrs(or 48hrs, not sure).
We hired an auto-rickshaw and went back to our hostel. We all were tired.....That night, I got a nice sleep and I saw dreams of people kissing. Ehhh....Why can't I kiss in my own dreams??!!
That's all for now. I am gonna play WoW(World of Warcraft).

Insomnia

I rarely sleep these days. The projects are taking my sleep away. Its not because of tension. The matter is I've been given a lot of work. I just want this semester to end and then I wanna go home. I'll sleep in my own room and for as many hours as I like; this thought makes me sleepy, but I can't....Ahhh....
Earlier I used to be one of those who loved to work at night(graveyard shift :D ), but after coming to Chennai I became dull(though i still finish n submit my works on time) coz of the heat n humidity. I feel sleepy but still I can't sleep. The room is not comfortable, the bed roars(n makes various other sounds) whenever I get on it. My room-mates are jerks. One of them thinks that other people in this universe have some kinda hearing disability, so instead of speaking he shouts. Second guy laughs at random situations & occasions and the third makes stupid jokes about other students' English speaking ability, but when his time comes to speak something in English, I have to translate what he speaks for others to understand. I don't know whats wrong with him. He has one lazy eye. He scares me with his toothy grin and his eye. I've never been lucky with room-mates.
I just want this semester to end as soon as possible, so I can go home n rest in peace.

Design for Game Development

My projects are killing meeeeee...........
As a game Development student I am being forced to concentrate more on ART/DESIGN than on Programming.
This is one thing i hate about my college.
According to me a programming student should concentrate on writing codes and solving problems logically.
Basic knowledge of Art wont kill, but why sooooo much of ART n DESIGN STUFF!!!???
I tried to address this problem of mine(n also of all the Game Development students) to our head of college, but he never gave a convincing answer. He always dismissed the meetings and never gave a solution for this problem. I need a convincing answer.
I don't understand what has gotten in to the minds of my college's administrative department!!!!
They are telling the staff to teach us ART n DESIGN stuff....Its been almost an year and what I've learned till this date is - What a Pixel Art is and how to create one on Graph sheet.
I also learned what is actually an Object Oriented Programming. The classes for this programming module was over within two weeks.
Programming module for Game Development students lasted for two weeks and Design module for Game Development students is still in progress(its been almost an year).
My projects concentrate more on design. Programming part is almost nothing in it.
I sometimes get irritated, but still I do what I am told to.....
